I am absolutely delighted with my new kitchen! Kevin and his team were professional, reliable, and meticulous from start to finish. The craftsmanship is outstanding, every detail has been finished to perfection, and the transformation has exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t recommend Kevin and his team more highly. Thank you!

David Penn · Kitchen renovation · 30 July★★★★★ Customer review

Kevin and Ryan have done a significant amount of work in our home and have always been friendly, trustworthy and dependable. Having had a bad experience before we found KJL Building Maintenance, I was very sceptical; however, Kevin was honest and upfront at first meeting and always delivered within the specified timeframe. I felt comfortable leaving Kev and Ryan in my home while I went out, communication is good and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Kevin always works within his scope of expertise and will recommend other professionals to complete any element of work that he doesn’t feel able to do. We have already booked them to come back for further renovations later in the year.

How a job runs

From the first message to the finished room.

No surprises: you know what happens next at every step.

  1. Get in touch

Send the form or call with what you’re planning. A couple of photos of the room help us understand the job.

  2. We look at the job

We come out free of charge to measure up, talk through what you want and point out anything worth knowing before you decide.

  3. A written quote

You get a free written quote for the work, so you know where you stand before anything starts.

  4. The work, then a tidy finish

We agree a start date, keep you posted as the job goes on and leave the room clean and ready to use.

How we price a job

Every kitchen is different, so we quote each one after seeing it rather than from a price list. Visits and quotes are free, and the quote is in writing, so you know the cost before anything starts. Payment terms and any deposit are agreed with you once you’ve accepted the quote.

If you have a budget in mind, say so when you get in touch: it helps us suggest the right options.

Questions people ask

Before you get in touch.

Anything else? Ask us: a straight answer costs nothing.

How long does a kitchen take to fit?

[To confirm: a typical number of days, and how far ahead KJL is booked.]

Do you design kitchens too?

Yes, with our local suppliers: they draw up the design with you, and we fit it.

What about the electrics and plumbing?

A kitchen refit nearly always needs some: new sockets, a cooker circuit, the sink and dishwasher. We take care of them as part of the job. [To confirm: whether electrical work is certified in-house or by a partner electrician.]

Do you cover my area?

We work in Ipswich and about 20 miles around in Suffolk: Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Kesgrave, Needham Market, Stowmarket, Hadleigh and the villages between. We don’t work in Essex. A little further out in Suffolk? Ask: it often depends on the job.
